THE COST OF MOVING CROSS-COUNTRY
So, when I move, I'll need to hire a moving company to move my stuff. They run around $1200-$2000 for a place the size of a studion apartment. I'm pretty sure I can get it done for about $1200 or $1300, if prices have stayed the same over the last few months from what the moving company quoted me a couple months ago.
Then, I have to find the least expensive way to get myself to where I want to be! That is to fly. I can get a plane ticket for $200 through Southwest. But, I have cats. I looked into their pet policy and they will allow me to fly both of my cats in one carrier (that they sell) for a total of (including the carrier AND the flight, during which they will be under an airplane seat) $110. CHEAP, considering... I'll name that cost at $350 for the WHOLE flight, including food I will eat etc.
I've looked into places I'd like to live already, and the place I want to get in to charges a et deposit of $500 per pet. I already talked to them and they said they would allow me to pay that over the course of the first 2 months of me living there (YAY!). That takes down my upfront costs already! Rent where I want to live will cost me $535. Application fee and deposits are both $50.
Speaking of deposits... WATER AND ELECTRICITY! ok, so since I have been good to my electric company (never gotten a shut-off notice in the year and 5 months that I have lived here, YAY!) I probably won't need to pay a deposit to them, but I may need to pay a deposit to the water company. I don't think it will be any higher than $50. I don't have any credit and have never had to pay a water company before, so IDK. I wonder if they will take my good name from the electric company here like the electric company down there will... Hmm... Worth a shot! I'll plan for the $50, just in case they don't.
I'm going to give myself $100 for food to start me off there, too. Can't take food with me!
Ok, so adding up those numbers... thats $1300, $350, $100, $535, $50, $50, $500, and $50 means I have to save AT LEAST $2935.
I'm currently saving no less than $300 a month (this month I'm saving $400), as is my boyfriend to help me with the cost.
So far he has $900 saved up and I have $950 saved up. Total, that is $1850. I am expecting to move in October, so add our $700 from July (his $300 and my $400), our $600 from August, and $600 from September, and we will have a total of $3750! Since I'm not moving until October 25th, as predicted by me several months ago, we will have another $300 to add to it just from the $150 we will both put into savings at the beginning of the month, then, since I won't be where I currently am at the beginning of the month, I won't have to pay rent out of the paycheck I get right before I leave, so I will have AT LEAST $600 from that to put toward this move as well (YAY)!
SOOO... Total, I will have NO LESS than $4500 to work with for my move! YAY! That should be more than enough to cover my ass, especially if job-hunting takes a bit more time than that first month or 2 weeks or whatever it may be...

How a Book Can Change a Life...
"Something I found interesting in my research was the common experience among shamans of being 'called.' Many didn't want to be shamans, and many resisted. They were plagued with horrible visions and happenings until they relented and took up their path in earnest. Many Witches whom I've spoken with describe a similar experience: the harder they fought against their natural psychic abilities, the longer they tried to fit into the current Christian mold and forget their early connection to other gods, the more intense their discomfort became, until they finally found out that they weren't alone!"
This very quote is the quote that changed me forever, for I was experiencing the very same thing the author was describing. I knew the instant the tears fell from my eyes that this is what I am, that this is what I need to do, follow, practice, and become. Call me a witch, call me a heathen, call me whatever you want. But I am, first and foremost, a person, second, a Pagan. This quote is about 50 pages into the book, so I'd read about the other Pagan religions, found them interesting, but nothing else in this book struck me quite the way that did. I cried. I knew, in my heart, that I had found what I was, unknowingly, looking for.
A question you may be wanting to ask is, "Why did you even have this book?" or maybe "How did you even come across the book if you didn't know you were looking for it or weren't looking at all?" My answer is, I think, interesting. I was in high school and I truly loved reading. I was looking for something a little different and stumbled across this book. I didn't even look inside it. I read the back of it and decided it sounded entertaining. So, I took it home. One day after school I decided to read it (maybe even the same day I picked it up, I'm thinking) and browsed through it a little, found it interesting enough, so I kept reading. I had no idea what to expect to find in this book, I was just reading it. I love to learn, so even reading a book on something I find mildly interesting can be fun and entertaining for me.
I was reading the book page my page, cover to cover, and as soon as I stumbled across that quote, I knew I'd leap in and not once look back. I still haven't, 5 years later, and I doubt I will at all. This is what makes my heart swell with joy and hope and happiness and fulfilment! I began taking things VERY seriously from that point on, in regards to Paganism and Wicca. I decided if I was going to follow that path, I had best know A LOT about it! I NEVER had enough information! I poured through book after book after book, searching for information, ANY information! My grades suffered, but this is what my heart needed! What my SOUL needed! I could NOT deny myself the one thing in the world that felt truly right to me.
Just like any religious person is when they find the religion that suits them, I WAS HOOKED. I honestly can't count how many books I have read on the matter, how many more I wish to read, how much information I have, and how much I don't. Just like anyone who learns anything complicated, such as science, or history, every time I learned something new, just ONE new thing, I'd have 5 more questions that needed answering!
I am a person with an old soul and a heart of gold. I am always seeking out more information, and this is me!
WOW! More Books Today!
I'm excited to read this book, it looks informative, but I only got a chance to briefly browse through it. I'll post again about it with more detail.
SO excited to have the book that, LITERALLY, changed my life! I know, the title of it is a bit ridiculous, but I HAVE to have this book. I LOVE IT SO MUCH! If you're a beginner in the Pagan world, or are simply curious to learn about it, this is an excellent read! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Ok, so me and my bestie went out for lunch after we took a nap (we didn't sleep long, or very well) and then went to a used book store (DANGER ZONE LOL!)... I found this book for $12 and grabbed it cause I think it looks interesting! I love this kind of stuff. I even downloaded Paranormal Activity to watch cause my friend said it freaked her out big time. I just have a bit more understanding of such things (I frickin see ORBS) so it doesn't freak me out TOO much, yeah, still gets me freaked, but it's short-lived. Things like the Chupacabra and that (more physically real) freak me out SO BAD! Idk, I suppose ghostly things freak me out too, cause you can't always see them. It's just... I guess it just depends... I'll find out if it reaks me out big time or not soon!
I'll post on the things I haven't yet just as soon as I can get around to it. Sorry for making you wait. Also, I'm posing a link to my second blog (well, technically my third, this is my second, and livejournal is my first, but whatever) and I'll be posting my thoughts on different kinds of things there, if you're interested. Topics will include anything from politics (yea, I know I already posted one here lol, no I'm not moving it or reposting it...) to science, to religion, to spirituality. Just anything, really, that I find interesting and that I can still learn from, regardless of the reader's POV.
The Woman's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets
OMFG!!! This book is AMAZING! I LOVE it so much! I love how it shows Christianity and Paganism from a different point of view. You can find millions of books that show Christianity from a Christian P.O.V, but ones that show the controversey, hypocracy, and TRUE BACKGROUND AND ROOTS of Christianity are hard to come by. I'm LOVING this book more and more as I flip through it, and I'm only on the letter E! If you like to read up on religious and spiritual topics with an unbiased point of view, this is a MUST READ! I GIVE THIS BOOK 5 STARS all the way, for it shows the foundations most Christians don't even know they have!Shows how, throughout time, Pagans have been given an unneccessary bad name, how things USED to be and how twisted things have truly become. Bible thumpers, beware. You probably won't like this book, for it's VERY controversial to everything you think you know! (Don't worry, everyone only thinks they know what's really going on, even me) So be prepared for some surprising, and possibly at times, disturbing, definitions and explanations in regard to topics of spirituality and religion.~BITCHEZZZ! <3

Got New Books!!!
A Little Princess - $4.99 + tax
I KNOW I'll enjoy this book. I've seen the movie several times and LOVE it, so I can't wait to read this!
The Odyssey - $2.50 + tax
I didn't get the chance to enjoy this in high school because it was pretty much SHOVED down my throat! It was pushed on me WAY too fast, so I couldn't even keep up, much less enjoy it. I failed English that year... Yes, for real. I'd like to get a better looking copy at some point, but at the time, i'm jsut not willing to spend the $ to get it. I would also like to get the Illiad and the other book that is related to the Odyssey and Illiad, but I cannot think of the name of right now...
In the mail, today, I got 2 books, which I haven't had the chance to look at yet. I got "The Skeptical Feminist: Discovering the Virgin, Mother", and "Crone and The Woman's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets", both written by Barbara G. Walker.
I will TRY to look through them and write a bit of a post on them by the end of the day tomorrow, but I can't guarantee I'll be able to do that.

I'm Finally Getting A Corset! FOR REAL!
I suppose I should do a little bit of a "background-check" on them first, so I'll be sure to look and ask around. Oh, and if anyone who reads this knows anything about them, whether they are reliable or not, etc, please share this information. THANKS!
I don't want to spend a lot on my first corset, but I want it to be decent quality so I can really try lacing up. I don't want to spend a lot cause, I mean, what if I just don't like it? I don't want to throw $300+ down the drain on a corset that will just sit around collecting dust. I suppose I could aways resell it, but that's a pain in the ass and I still don't want to spend $300+ right off the bat, just GONE, on something I am not experienced with. That would be like buying a $100,000 car when I don't even know how to drive... or like buying an airplane when I'm not even in the process of getting my pilot's license... or like buying a boat (do you need a license to drive a boat specifically, I would think so, but I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT!) Catch my drift? lol.
Anywhooo, it's late and I'm exhausted. I'll catch y'all later!!!

Summer Wishlist Part 1
I also NEED a brush cleaner, I will either turn to MAC or Ulta for that, and a few brushes, such as:
This Jasponesque Travel Eye Shadow Crease Brush
Jasponesque Travel Stippling Brush

Jasponesque Medium Eye Shadow Fluff Brush
I may decide on other brushes, just saying, I need some similar to these...
Something else I'd like to get, have wanted to for a while, but haven't buckled down and purchased yet, is a corset. I'd like an underbust of some sort, I think they're more versatile than overbust corsets.
Ok, now I i am taking some time to pick out a few pairs of shoes to work toward owning before winter starts, hopefully by then they will still be around. I SHOULD be living in Houston by then, so getting them shouldn't be a problem. Problem might come in to saving the money and sticking to it, as well as actually being able to GET the shoes when it comes down to it. We'll just have to see! I'd like comments on which pair I should get when I post that blog. It will be the next one up.
I Just Feel Like Saying...

I SOOO wish Obama was NOT out prez! Do you people not realize that the new health care shit is just gonna jack up the economy even more??? I don't want to pay for some lazy asses who don't want to work to have health insurance! They can pay for it
themselves! Now the honestly disabled people DO need it, but there are too many people who aren't truly disabled and are just abusing the system for me to agree with this shit! Too many dishonest people.Games, Networking, Virtual Reality...
